What age group is this curriculum for?
Homestead Science has options for preschool through adulthood. 

 

Little Learner’s Homestead Science is customizable for preschool to about 5th grade, depending on your child’s maturity, math ability, and previous farm experience.

 

Introduction to Homestead Science is for 6th grade through adulthood. It approaches the basics of agriculture and homesteading from a science perspective.
What subject is this curriculum considered?
This curriculum could be considered a science. It can take up to an hour for each lesson (3 a week for elementary and four a week for highschool). It also contains labs.
 
Homestead Science can also be a  social science, health, or elective curriculum. There are components of reading comprehension, writing, and math at both levels.
 
What religious belief does this curriculum follow?
This curriculum was written to be neutral. However, the stories associated with the units reflect traditional families.
How many days a week does the schedule suggest?

The schedule suggests three days a week for elementary and four days a week for middle and high school.

This is a very versatile curriculum that can be done all in one day a week, in an after-school program, in summer projects, or on weekends at Grandma’s.

Do we have to own a homestead to benefit from this curriculum?
Absolutely not! This curriculum is designed to be used on or off the homestead and gives options on how to experience everything off the homestead.
